Going to the Farmers Market is one of my favorite things to do. It’s like going to the fair, a place the whole family can enjoy. There’s a wide variety of food to choose from like fresh organic produce from local farmers, farm fresh eggs, Artisan crafts, baked goods, there’s music and the atmosphere is fun and relaxed.

Here in Tucson and it’s vicinity, there are quite a few Farmers Markets to choose from on different days of the week. Today I’m going to feature one of the biggest we have here, The Rillito Park Farmers Market. It’s located at the Rillito Race Track on 4502 N. 1st Ave. at the Food Pavilion. It is held every Sunday from 8 am to 12 pm April thru September and 9 am to 1 pm October thru March. One of the things I really like about this one is that it’s shaded. It’s pretty hot here in Tucson and the sun is intense so having a roof over your head is very much welcomed.
There’s also Music!
THE VENDORS
Let’s start off with my favorite, food. Food you can buy and eat right then and there!

MI SALSA GRILLED BURRITOS
Those burritos look amazing. Next time I go, I won’t be on a diet because I’m going to devour one of those!
Now let’s see what they have for Baked Goods and Snacks. One thing for sure about shopping at the Farmers Market is that you can find healthy desserts. They are much better for you than the stuff you buy at the store that have so much preservatives and are processed to the gills!
GREENHEART BAKERY
Everything in this stand looks so amazing and they’re Vegan! Alaine has had a bakery in Los Angeles and baked for Celebrities and the health conscious since 1993. We are so lucky that she is now here in Tucson. Check out her website and then follow her on Facebook

FIORE DI CAPRA
This lady has the most delicious Goat Cheese spreads and logs. I’m not supposed to have dairy on this weight loss program I’m on but I just couldn’t resist sampling here. It was definitely worth the cheat and I even bought a log to have with my Zucchini Spaghetti, DELICIOUS! See their Facebook page
WE B JAMIN FARM

According to their Facebook page and reviews they have the best Homemade Jam, Jelly’s and Pickles around. Be sure to check them out!
MY RAWSOME FOODS
They have Raw Kale Chips and other raw snacks. What’s so good about Raw food you may ask? Well, that means they have been prepared using very low temperatures to preserve the living enzymes and is much better for you. My late husband Brad and I used to be Raw Vegans and let me tell you, the process is very time consuming. It’s so much easier to just get them here! Find them on Facebook

HEIRLOOM BEANS
Packages of different types of beans and pre-seasoned beans to cook for dinner.
IN THE BEGINNING
Their vegetables that stood out to me here were the onions and tomatoes. They looked “Vintage”, meaning, unadulterated, pure, the way they used to be or should be vegetables.

I have been hiding under a rock. Didn’t know they had a farmers market at the Rillitto. Thanks for sharing.
I didn’t know either until it was mentioned to me by a vendor at another Farmer Market. It’s so tucked in the Race track that you can’t see it from the road.
