One of the benefits of travelling solo is being able to do whatever you want. When you want to indulge a little in some desserts, there’s nobody to stop you 🙂 On the third day of this solo trip in Orange County, California, I decide to go in search of delicious desserts. Consulting my best travel companion, Pinterest, finding places to soothe my sweet tooth is easy!

Driving around Orange county isn’t very easy but I’m on a mission. First stop is to eat lunch at my favorite Filipino Restaurant, Pinoy Pinay, in West Covina. Mind you, this place isn’t in Orange County but being pretty hungry, I knew I would get one of my favorite desserts, Halo Halo, there. This dessert has fruit preserves like banana, mungo beans, jack fruit, young coconut, placed at the bottom with some sugar. Shaved ice goes over the preserves and evaporated milk is poured on top. Flan and Ube ice cream tops off the whole thing, Yum!
Ube is a dessert made from purple yams. You then take your spoon and mix it all together in your glass. That’s why it’s called Halo Halo, which means, mix, mix.
Next stop is Susie Cakes in Newport Beach. Their address is 2043 Westcliff Dr #104, Newport Beach, CA 92660.
This place must be really good because there was a long line of customers waiting to be served. My weakness is cupcakes and they have cupcakes galore!
And giant cookies and cakes!
Everything they have is made from scratch and they use all natural ingredients. Customer service is great too!
Nothing Bundt Cakes is next on the list. It’s located at 16622 Beach Blvd #102, Huntington Beach, CA 92647.
I heard about this bakery from my Airbnb host. She told me that a lot of people she knows just love their desserts and that if I didn’t make it to any of the other bakery’s, this was the one place I needed to visit. When I walked in, the first thing that came to my mind was, “Jackpot!” Everything looked so delicious.
They have so many different sizes of bundt cakes, in so many different flavors!
I chose to take home a Strawberries and Cream flavored one and OMG, it was infused with flavor, moist and very delectable.
Their shop is very appealing. They offer pretty plateware to serve your desserts and party supplies for every occasion.
As I’m writing this post and fetching the Nothing Bundt Cakes website and address for you, I see they have one here in Tucson. I’m so excited! 😀
Last but not least in my delicious desserts quest is the Wonderland Bakery. It’s location is 1314 Bison Ave, Newport Beach, CA 92660.
This is a place to take your children to as it’s decor is colorful and magical. Definitely a treat to visit in itself.
They offer macarons, custom cakes, cupcakes, cake pops, dipped apples and gluten free desserts.
They also offer party supplies and themes.
This is definitely a delicious quest. Thank goodness I had plans to go on a weight loss program because eating all my new found desserts added to my already curvy physique…LOL
